Lake Park Arts District Visual Feast

brick4The Brick & Barrel Gastro Pub located on Park Ave is one of our favorite Lake Park secrets. The only thing is that the secret is out and we hope we can still get a seat at the bar. This gastro pub is lined with brick accents behind the bar and barrels, which add to the decor as in their name. First and foremost, we must acknowledge one of our favorite bartenders in the area … Paige. She is so approachable, amicable, and very accommodating. Without any hesitation, she will work with you to create a flawless libation that satisfies your taste buds! Let’s talk bar … They have a surplus of beers on tap. Everything from a raspberry lemonade sour from the Noble Brew Co. to Copperpoint’s blonde ale. Happy hour is from 4-7 p.m. and that includes $5 wells, drafts, and select wines. They also offer other food specials running throughout the week like $5 burgers and awesome tapas deals. If you are a bourbon or whiskey fan, WOW! Check out the drinks made in the smoker. It’s a show within itself! Definitely check out their website and Facebook for more fun daily happenings!

Now let’s move on to the food. Eclectic, intriguing, and absolutely fabulous! The meals are cooked to order, and between the scotch egg and croque madame deep dish focaccia pizza, we are sold! Can we just order one of everything please? Some choices they offer are poutine, cheddar and stout fondue, pork cheeks and polenta, amazzzing burgers, shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, steak chimichurri, and so much more. Now you know why we keep coming back. The Brick and Barrel offers comfort food with an artsy twist and we love it! Whether grabbing a drink or dinner before a show at the Kelsey Theatre, we definitely suggest a stop here! Just keep it a secret.
