Are YOU Ready For Some Football?

IMG_4488Smell that? It’s almost the end of baseball season and then are you ready for some foooootball? With college football starting this weekend and NFL games shortly after, we are here to help you set up a game plan to where you can check out the game. So where should you watch THE game? Well, wherever you end up, go early or else you will be stalking a seat for at least the entire first half.

duffys2A South Florida Staple: Duffy’s! The location I frequent the most is the one on PGA/ US 1, but there are many more. In addition to their seasonal specials, the Duffy’s menu is very sports oriented including wings, potato skins, mozz sticks, flatbreads, tacos, burgers, rice bowls, pasta, ribs… and SO much more. I would have to say if I took a poll of what people like the most at Duffy’s besides the neighborhood feel is that drinks are 2 for 1 all day everyday!  Another awesome thing about Duffy’s is their MVP account where you can earn points on your card. They even emailed me a survey the other day and just for taking 5 minutes to fill it out, I received $10 on my card. A quick shout out to Craig! He’s one of the best bartenders in the Duffy’s world. He really makes you feel at home and will definitely take care of you! https://www.duffysmvp.com/   or  https://www.facebook.com/DuffysPGABlvd/

Kickoff between the Falcons and Eagles is happening Thursday, September 6 at 8:20 p.m.

Another local hot spot to watch the game is at the Thirsty Turtle.  This establishment is always packed, even in the off-season, so if you are planning on watching the game, you better come early.  It is lined with televisions featuring several games on at once.  They have a 110″ screen, as well as a wall of 60″ TVs.  A game for every fan. They offer local craft brews on draft, domestic, import bottles, and several pitchers to choose from.  They have a beery good happy hour with .75 cent wings, $2.50 drafts, and $7.95 pitchers, just to name a few.  Something about hot wings and a cold beer just mesh together perfectly. Happy hour runs daily from 2 p.m.-7 p.m.. Oh and the bartenders are absolutely fabulous! Attentive and very personable. Eat local, drink local, and enjoy the game. http://www.thirstyturtlefl.com

GO YARD!  As in YARD HOUSE in Palm Beach Gardens.  This is a total hotspot for IMG_E6112viewing so you MUST get here early, whether you want a table or a seat at the bar.  Even in the dead of summer there is usually a wait.  I timed it right on a Friday night and managed to get one of the last tables without having to wait, but that is rare.  There are a couple reasons…the beer, the food, all the televisions, and the amazing service!  I am a nacho fan, and the nachos they serve are loaded. They definitely don’t skimp on the toppings.  It’s definitely not your typical bar food.  I am usually swayed by their Cuban Roast Pork Dip (the mojo sauce is delish). While they have the usual burgers and wings, their menu is extensive….as is their beer.  Tons of beer are on tap from all around, and you can even choose from different size drafts. Bottles and flights are also served. Happy hour is offered weekly from 3pm-6pm with half off select appetizers (Nachos made the list!!!!) and $2 off beer, wine, and cocktails.  Keep a lookout on their website also as different football promotions take place.  http://www.yardhouse.com

Brass3Did someone say pitchers and wings? Look no further. The Brass Ring located at 200 US 1 in North Palm (another location in Royal Palm) is waiting for you! I’ve never had a bad meal here and the guys sweatin’ behind the open grill deserve a huge applause. Bravo! The burgers are some of the best around and many would say this place has the coldest beer in town. Yes, they have frosted mugs! SCORE! The Brass Ring also has starters, loaded sandwich stacks, seafood specials, hot dogs, salads and much more! The service is always great and kids are more than welcome! They have specials and happy hour daily and it’s a hard one to beat! Both locations will most certainly have the games on! brassringpub.rkorson.com

signDid someone say more beer? Well, the next place on the list most certainly won’t disappoint. Charlie’s up in Stuart is one of my favs when it comes to eats, drink, and of course watching THE game. This place opens up nice and early for everyone wanting to beat the rush and get a seat. One of my favorite items is the black and blue wings, but the day I took this snap I decided to try the blueberry teriyaki wings. I’m starting to think any wing you order at Charlie’s will be amazing! And to be even more honest, everything I have ordered here has been superb! Charlie’s has specials everyday (Monday is very popular with burger night and bingo), happy hour from 3:30- 6:30 every day, and many other discounts too! They have live music on the weekends and Sunday funday is not to be missed. The bartenders are always friendly and very attentive. I think one of my favorite things about Charlie’s is that it’s open 365 days a year. You’ll never have to wonder if Charlie’s is open. Every game, every holiday, every day. http://www.ilovecharlies.com/ or https://www.facebook.com/ilovecharliesbar/

D27EE82C-D2AE-45DF-8627-7022FECD2EC8ZINGERS!  The two main reasons we hit up Miller’s Ale House during football season are the zingers and that the restaurant is surrounded by televisions so you are sure not to miss a play. Our local Miller’s Ale Houses include the Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Jensen Beach, and Port St. Lucie area. You are in luck because if you are unable to decide on a spot to watch the game, chances are there is a Miller’s Ale House close by. They offer a wide variety of dishes.  The zingers, which are our favorite, are boneless chicken wings, and are served with the sauce of your choice (17 different kinds!!!!).  Their chicken wings, chicken philly, and burgers are also top-notch.  9593FD3B-2961-4276-B134-33E471AB2F88Different food specials are offered during the week.  Their drink specials are offered daily and range from pitchers, to buckets, to flights, the list goes on.  Drink specials all day, every day?  I think so!!! The service is great and always with a smile. Keep a look out at your local Miller’s Ale House webpage, with football approaching, I know there will be draft parties and other events taking place.  http://www.millersalehouse.com

DH1Just added… Draft House Bar & Grille (Freshly opened) off US 1 in North Palm. We featured these guys on our “Look Who’s Coming To Town” blog… and I happened to stop in before this post went out, so here’s the low down on this old Hog Snappers spot. Happy Hour: is M-F 11-6 p.m., which includes some amazing deals. Check them out: https://drafthousebarandgrille.com/ Word on the street is that there will definitely be more specials in the upcoming weeks including legit football deals. The service was phenomenal. Dee and Jorge were nothing but friendly and accommodating. The place was bustling around 5 p.m. on a Sunday, so I can’t imagine what this place will be like come season, both for our vacationers and football fanatics! I had to try the wings because, well, so it gives me a reason to chow down and write about them of course. Even though I tend to go for hot wings, I ordered the sweet thai chile based off the bartender’s recommendation. The wings were cooked perfectly and I couldn’t have loved them more. I mean I did polish off 10. Oh, and the beer is flowing. And lots of it! Domestic and craft galore. Take a look at the pics and definitely put this spot on your gaming list. Have fun!
