It’s Saturday afternoon and I’m craving some Mexican food. There’s a place I’ve been wanting to try in Stuart called The Taco Shack on South Colorado Avenue right behind our beloved The Crafted Keg (see our previous blogs). Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted and asked if we had ever been there. We were then given the fabulous menu tour and I couldn’t wait to dive in.

I may have gone a little overboard, but I skipped breakfast. I ordered a chicken quesadilla, Thai basil shrimp taco, and a pulled pork taco. Oh, I also got an ice cold draft beer to wash down all the soon to be goodness. They have an assortment of drafts and bottles to choose from in addition to soft drinks and don’t forget the bottle of tequila at the counter advertising Tequila Shots $1. The wait was minimal and the food was absolutely excellent! The tacos aren’t your regular tacos, they’re lavish, elegant, and unique. I also saw the glorious nachos in passing and if I had more room, I would’ve ordered some. Everything that passed by our table onto other patrons looked awesome! In addition, The Taco Joint offers soups, chili, Mexican street corn, Mexican conch fritters, quesadillas, tacos galore, and even yummy desserts, including a mango tango sweet, that was posted on the board above the hot sauce buffet.
When you leave a place saying you can’t wait to come back, well… that’s a good sign! And … when you say, “I should’ve stopped in sooner”, you finally feel complete! This is a wonderful little gourmet taco joint that I would recommend to anyone in the area. The Taco Queen a.k.a the owner of the Taco Shack has definitely created something amazing here and I can’t wait to return! It may be Tuesday, but Tacos are definitely not just for Tuesdays anymore! Enjoy!
