Southern Soul Diner

You can’t help but notice the Lighthouse Diner when driving down US1 in Jupiter.  The colorful, nautical artwork on the outside, and the cute little lighthouse hanging by the front door is a definite eye catcher. Oh, and if that doesn’t catch your eye, the actual Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse that sits diagonally across the street surely will! To be honest though, the main thing that caught my eye every time I passed by this cozy diner was the massive number of people lined up out the door. In my book, that’s a sure fire clue that this place has something that’s well worth the wait! I went early on a Sunday (they open at 6:30 a.m.) to make sure I beat the hungry and eager crowd. Boy, am I glad that I did! Sure enough, by the time I was finished eating, the line was indeed, out the door. This is definitely a local diner. When I FAC3EBA6-D0F2-4739-9D59-6F48AFC4E0D4say local, I not only mean the locals that visit it, I mean they use local ingredients from Okeechobee and Kai Kai Farm, both which are just a short distance away. They also serve local Florida craft beers. Speaking of beers….they have a full bar with happy hour Monday-Saturday from 1pm-4pm. On to the food … the menu is extensive with scrumptious breakfast and lunch items. Did someone say homemade biscuits and jam? Every dish that passed seemed better than the last. My eggs benedict was absolutely delicious and the hollandaise sauce was blissful. If anyone who knows me – I love French fries. It’s my go to comfort food and when I saw this place had its own Fry Time section of the menu, I knew I picked a winner. The portions are filling and the service was very attentive and cordial. They also have a private dining room, offer catering, and have a selection of delicious homemade pies to enjoy at home. Be sure to check out their menu as each day they offer great specials. The Lighthouse Diner is southern home cooking at its best! I will most certainly be back again for lunch, fulfill my fry cravings, and to try one of those pies!
