The Wine Scene on Fern Street in downtown WP is absolutely enchanting, cozy, and artistically captivating. The outside patio hosts street artwork that is simply alluring and vibrant. The building itself has a warm industrial feel. The Wine Scene has a plethora of specials from live music, jazz swing nights, ladies nights, 1/2 price wine, cheese board specials, and many more exciting events. Everything coming out of the small open area kitchen smelled absolutely AMAZING! The Wine Scene offers cheese and meat plates, meatballs, truffled mac & cheese, flat breads, bar snacks, paninis, bruschetta, salads, and desserts. Did someone say maple baked brie? WOWZA! No matter what you order, everything is a perfect pairing with the wine and beer options. Can we chat about the WINE yet? They offer glasses of sparkling, rose, whites, reds, and let’s not forget ports & sherry from all around the globe including, but not limited to Australia, Oregon, Italy, France, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Chile, Argentina and of course California. The wine flights were a perfect way to start happy hour and the big reds hit the spot. If you opt for a beer or a different wine libation instead, they also offer drafts, bottles, and sangria. Happy hour is from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday- Friday with 50% off glasses of wine. Everywhere you look around inside they have the most creative wine decorations. The staff was extremely welcoming, helpful, and attentive. Definitely call or check online for hours of operation. Planning an event? Between the piano room, wine bar, or patio, they have you covered ! Enjoy!
Talk about regretting not doing something sooner! What a better way to start your Saturday with some baby goats to release a little stress. Located just seconds off of Southern Blvd. in Loxahatchee the You Farm was the location of my morning goat yoga class. No, you didn’t read that incorrectly… yoga with goats! Downward Goat is an ingenious creation that has gotten so much publicity already that classes fill up well in advance, so definitely book in advance. This is an hour filled with many laughs, yoga poses, and goats kneading out pressure points. Right from the beginning, everyone was warmly welcomed by Korinne- the head goat yogi, her husband, and the owner of the You Farm, Stefan. Cell phones were snapping these silly little creatures even before the yoga mats were rolled out. Since the weather was grey and rainy, the class was held under a tin roof pole barn. Class was taught by Kim from Breathe Salt & Yoga in Jupiter. Since the concept is that the goats are roaming around, cuddling with you, and possibly climbing up on you, Kim communicated to the class that we are all here for fun. Meaning, if mid pose we wanted to snap a selfie with a goat, by all means! The goats didn’t need much coaxing to participate or practice their jumps. It was pure entertainment watching the goats travel from yogi to yogi nibbling on hair, flip flops, and sweatshirts. It’s something you just have to try once it your life! So what are you waiting for. If not for yoga, go for the laughs and the adorable goats! http://downwardgoat.com/
Although Downward Goat is held at a handful of locations, the You Farm has an impressive and generous story. Their objective is to educate people and towns how to utilize their small spaces to grow healthy local fresh foods. They even have free farm tours on Wednesdays and on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturday you can pick up your fresh greens, eggs, and farm produce. Check them out here: https://youfarmgreens.com/
Feasting On The Water:
A quick Saturday drive north and I was relaxing on the water in the most ideal tropical setting. The Original Tiki Bar located at the Fort Pierce Marina provided the food, the drinks, the live music, and of course… the awesome view overlooking the Indian River! Any seafood fans out there? Talk about fresh! From calamari, conch fritters, ahi tuna, a raw bar assortment, shrimp, clams, chowder, and their daily fresh catch, they have your fish cravings covered. In addition to their seafood delights, they offer sandwiches, salads, burgers, tacos, and Tiki fan favs such as shrimp and grits, southern fried chicken tenders, and jerked tenderloin kebobs. Make sure to leave room for their homemade key lime pie too! Happy hour runs from 4-7 p.m. and their drink menu covers all of your fun tropical libations. Yes, there may even be a rum bucket in your future! The mid day drinks were definitely flowing and the vibe was comforting and chill. The service at the bar was fabulous. The gentleman was very attentive even on this bustling Saturday. If you’re looking for a place with a water view, this one will be hard to beat. Enjoy! http://www.tikibarandrestaurant.com
An Italian Style Ending: After the beach, on the way home from work, on a lazy rainy day, or for a special occasion… Matty’s Gelato Factory located in Juno is the perfect spot to get some amazing dessert. The owner Matty greets you with a warm smile as you enter and offers you samples of the gelato to see which ones will fit your taste buds. Flavors change daily and you can expect more than 20 offerings on any given day! The best part is that you don’t have to choose just one. Phew! You can mix as many flavors as you like in your cup or cone. The cannoli and chocolate fudge brownie are amazing. Flavor explosion!!! The cookies and cream, M&M, and mint chocolate chip were also a huge hit! Matty’s also offers non- dairy sorbets that are equally as delicious as the gelatos. You can even order gelato pies for your celebrations and pints to go if you want to enjoy the pure goodness in the privacy of your own home! Whether you are a local or visiting from out of town you must stop in and say hi to Matty, have some gelato, and maybe even take some to go. You walk in a guest and leave as family. http://www.mattysgelatofactory.com

From Singer Island to Hutchinson Island, from Juno to Hobe Sound… it’s open and taking your Valentine’s Day reservations. Always a #1 pick! Enjoy!
