Putting For A Purpose

Any Honda Classic fans out there? Need to brush up your short game? Look no further. The Golden Cub Mini Golf is the perfect spot! When news broke that downtown Abacoa would be getting a new mini 18-hole golf course, you could sense the excitement around this charming downtown main street. The best part… it was designed by the Nicklaus Design. That’s right, a company founded and run by retired professional golfer Jack Nicklaus. If you’ve never had the opportunity to play one of his golf courses, here is your chance. It may be a slightly shorter course, but it is a great way to practice your putts, and any way you slice it, this is a great new addition to the area. Each hole has a BB588C2C-0661-48DC-BD86-12091B524A51different phrase saying and the hole is designed around it. My favorite was the “onward and upward” hole. Watch out for that upward slope! It sure is a doozy!  Each hole has its little challenges, just as if you were really playing an 18-hole course. The Golden Cub sells ice cream and refreshments for the little ones and beer and wine for adults. You can take both along with you on the course, which could make the game even more interesting. This is also a great spot if you are looking to host a party. The best part about playing this course is that The Golden Cub proudly donates a dollar from every full price round to the foundation that Jack and Barbara Nicklaus founded in 2004. This is an amazing local foundation that provides world class care to pediatrics in our community. So not only are you playing on a Nicklaus Design course, you are also putting for a purpose! The Golden Club is open daily from 10:00am-11:00pm, is fun for all ages, and is surely a hole in one! Who knows, maybe you’ll even see some Honda Classic stars!  http://goldencubgolf.com/
