Scones and bread to start? You don’t have to ask twice. The scones were warm and lightly sweetened- yum! French onion soup was next and it was a cheesy mound of goodness and seasoned perfectly. Next up was the lamb thumb bite appetizer. The meat was cooked to order and the bread was soft and filled with the savory meat juices. In the middle of the plate was a salad with house dressing and tomatoes, which was a perfect complement. Take a look at their full menu here: http://www.mccarthyspub.net/menu/
The atmosphere was wonderful with live music, a bustling crowd, and Irish pub themed decorations throughout. The McCarthy story starts in 1975 and it’s a good one as they hopped around Tequesta opening successful establishments as they did in 2015 with this gem! Happy hour was advertised 4 p.m. to close which was great! And … they had Smithwick’s on tap, which you don’t always see around town. St. Patrick’s Day or not, definitely check this place out. The bartenders were hospitable and extremely attentive. May the road to McCarthy’s rise up to meet you and all your friends! Enjoy!
